The Sika-PM 500 is a universal concrete system, it consists of a hydraulic
wet concrete pump, a telescopic spraying arm and an optional air compressor
mounted on a diesel carrier. The concrete pump, the spraying arm and the air
compressor are designed to be operated from an external 460V/60Hz/3Ph
electric supply but the arm can also be moved with the diesel engine power.

The client wanted to use this machine in an underground mine supplied with
575V/60Hz/3Ph electric current for spraying dry concrete. So the scope of the
modification was to transform the universal wet concrete system into a mine dry
concrete system that can be operated from an external 575V/60Hz/3Ph electric
supply conform to the mine standards.
For his operation, the client asked to lower the machine by at least 10 inches,
improve the lighting system, change the grade of the tires, add a fire protection
system, improve the engine exhaust emissions and replace the wet pump by a
dry concrete pump. He also had specific request concerning the electrical
supply protection. As compressed air is available from the mine system, the
optional air compressor was also to be removed.
The supplier agreed to lower the cabin by 10 inches and it was made by
scarifying the 180° rotating ability but he did not want to make the other
modifications.
Here is a summary description of the modifications made on the machine
before it was delivered to the client
